Mother Daughter Fancy Nancy Spa Party

I am so excited to share my Mother Daughter Fancy Nancy Spa Party with you!! We LOVE Fancy Nancy at my house. If you have never read the books you are missing out on fabulous vocabulary and fancy fun.

I based my party on the book, Ooh La La! It’s Beauty Day.  Buy the book or borrow it from the library to make your own party!

In the book, they eat healthy spa food. This is one spot that I didn’t want to follow the book. Mostly because I love sweets!

I made cupcakes and cake pops. The Oreo Marshmallow Pops are divine.  I will post on Wednesday how to make them.  Is it cheating to put frosting on an Oreo and call it mine? I think not!

The Pretzel Bites by Get Off Your Butt and Bake stole the show. They were so good.  Again I went the easy route and used Otis Spunkmeyer ‘s Bake Up Brownie Rounds. I cut the frozen punk into 1/3 pieces and cooked them in the mini cupcake pan to keep them round. I also reduced the cooking time down from 14 minutes to 6-7 minutes.

I used chalk board vinyl on the jars so none of the girls would mix-up drinks and filled them with pink lemonade!

As much fun as it was to eat yummy food, we also had a blast with the spa activities!

The face mask ( the recipe is in the book) was gooey but the girls loved to put it on the moms and see us squirm!

Painting nails is always a big hit with the girls! Some of the little girls wanted glitter toes so we did the glitter nails outside. It was is messy, but the girls were so happy!

In the book, Nancy gives her mom a headband; I decided to make this part of the party. It was the favorite of the older girls. We decorated the headbands with extra craft supplies everyone had on hand.

I wanted to have fancy glasses on hand for pictures. I used extra scrapbook paper and cut them out with my Silhouette (Mask_0779). I also added the feather and skewer with a hot glue gun.

I honestly did the whole party for under $20 (for 10 people!)

Things that I had on hand: paper, décor, Fancy Nancy Dolls, chalk board vinyl, mason jars, craft supplies for headbands, cake mix, pink lemonade mix, face mask supplies, nail polish, glitter, skewers, and feathers.

I did shop at the dollar store for the table cloth, paper plates, and headbands 4 for $1. At Hobby Lobby I bought the straws 2.99 (But I used 40% off coupon), and I bought the fabric to tie around the drinks.

I spent the most money on food. I needed the Oreos, marshmallows, and Rhodes Rolls. All the rest of the food I had on hand so that is why I made them part of this party!  I wanted this party to be about spending time with my girls.

This party was so much fun. I hope you enjoyed it, too! I would love to hear from you if you throw your own Fancy Nancy Party!
