“Hoo” wants to Party?

owl reading party

Hoo’s been reading?

Welcome to The Reading Reward Party!

I created this easy owl themed party to reward my kids for reading 20 minutes a day for the past few weeks.

The reward - a family movie night with individual treat boxes!

The kids loved the boxes and I loved not having them whine over who gets to hold the popcorn!

For the whole party, I used the Paper Sudio’s “Hoot Hoot” paper pack! Their owls are so cute…I made a clock to helps us read 20 minutes a day! I mounted the owl onto foam board. The actual working parts of the clock, I bought from a craft store ( 5 years ago, I am a bit a procrastinator!)  We love our clock!!!

I LOVE the individual treat boxes! I used the foam board for the treat boxes.   I used a heavy duty Exacto  Knife and cut out a rectangle for the bottom and matching sides to form the box. I hot glued them all together. As it turns out, I am not the best at cutting and had to used washi tape to cover the seams that didn’t match up exactly!

I made the washi tape bags using my tutorial found here.

I love the little cloths pins!

I had a blast making this party to inspire and motivate (okay, bribe) my kids to read!
