Baby Shower by Mail Part 2…Onesies Revealed!

As promised, here are the results of the Baby Shower by Mail I told you about yesterday!  Prepare to be blown away.

Jessi died her onesie brown using RIT Dye. GENIUS!  Then she ironed on some rhinestones to create the “Little Princess”.  I am totally in love with the little tutu she made to finish off such a cute outfit!

Patti got some iron-ons from the baby section at the craft store and sewed them on with a zigzag stitch in two colors of thread.  She put one on the butt and one on the chest.  I especially love the zigzag detail on the neck and the sleeves.  ADORABLE!

Roxane took some of her ruffled fabric and created a little wrap skirt!  She secured it to the onesie with a fabric sash.  Seriously beautiful!

Penny used Silhouette Heat Transfer to create this super cute screen print onesie!  This is absolutely perfect for a little princess with 3 older brothers, right?

Kellee created some darling rosettes from the fabric in her kit and stitched them on the onesie.  I LOVE the little skirt she included.

Ranae made these blanket stitched fabric butterflies.  She secured them to the onesie by sewing down the middle of the butterfly so the wings are loose.  SO CUTE!

I took some flannel and hemmed the edges.  Then I sewed it right under the armpits and added an adorable crochet flower from Riley Blake Designs.  Simple, yet totally cute!

My grandma made a adorably simple onesie with buttons and ribbon.  What a cute and easy idea!  I love that such a little detail can add so much to a plain white onesie.

My favorite part of this Baby Shower by Mail was seeing how everyone decorated their onesies.  We all have different talents and abilities, but this fun onesie project showed that EVERYONE can create something beautiful!

Speaking of beautiful, here is the reason we did this baby shower:

A MOST BEAUTIFUL CREATION!

Baby Shower by Mail!

Like many of you I have family all over the nation, but I still want them to be included in our fun family crafting nights and bridal & baby showers.  I hate that they don’t get to participate in these fun events.  Then the BABY SHOWER by MAIL idea hit me…

DIY Apron for kids parties

I am very excited for my 8 year old daughters birthday party. It’s a Santa’s Workshop with crafty projects! There is going to be a lot of paint and I really don’t want our guest clothes to be ruined if we spill a little paint! I wanted to get everyone an apron but realized that could be really expensive. I figured plastic tablecloths would work if I could make them look cute! They are really easy and fast to make.

Supplies

1Plastic tablecloth= 8 aprons

Child size apron for template

3 spools of Black satin ribbon 7/8” x 18 feet

White glitter paper for buckles

Hot Glue Gun

Sewing machine

Black thread

Santa’s Workshop Birthday Party Ideas

My oldest daughter was born just a few days before Christmas. Celebrating her birthday is hard. I know that everyone who has a December birthday or a kid with a December birthday is saying, “Ahem!!!” She loves to craft, so I thought it would be fun to have a Santa’s Workshop party where the kids come and make gifts. Fingers crossed, some of the kids will be able to come this busy time of year!!!!

I want to show you some of the darling ideas, I have found so far for her party!

I love the darling Candy Candy Banner via No Biggie.  I love the paper! I am undecided if I will use Candy Cane or North Pole. The clothes pins are so cute, too!

The Santa Favor Boxes via Madigan Made are so cute!!!! I know the girls would love to take home treats in here!

I LOVE the Santa Hat chair covers via Make It and Love It!!! If I don’t have enough time to make them out of felt, I may make them out of paper and tape but follow her basic instructions!

I will have a few tutorials next week to show you the rest of my ideas for this party! With any luck, I will get the party finished, celebrate Christmas, then relax!!!

Easy Party Treat Ideas with Rice Crispy Treats

Want to know my go-to dessert, when I am crunched for time? Rice Crispy treats, of coarse!  I can whip up a batch, fast. Let me share some of the ways I dress-up this easy party treat.

I love using cookie cutters to add to the theme of a party. I simple place the hot rice crispy mixture into a greased jelly roll pan. Press down the rice crispy to 2”- 3”. Cut with cookie cutters any shape you want.  Add a lollipop stick. I like to dip the end of the stick in a little bit of chocolate, then insert it in the treat.  I like to drizzle colored-chocolate to look like ribbon on a tree!

Another easy idea is to serve the rice crispy treat on a cupcake liner!!!!

These bite sized treats are shaped by using mini muffin pans. Spray the tin with Pam and add a big spoonful of the hot rice crispy mixture to each cup. I use a rolling pin to flatten and compress the treats. Then insert the lollipop stick with a little bit of chocolate on the end. Last  step add a little bit of chocolate for added yumminess!!!!

DIY Silverware Holder

I made this niffy silverware holder because dinner at my house is chaos. My children always miscount and don’t bring enough silverware to the table. I feel like I am always hoppy up to grab a napkin or spoon for someone. This silverware holder has everything you need in it. I am so excited to use it. I think that it would also be great for a fun dinner party served buffet style.
