Layered Jello

Layered Jello

My mom makes Layered Jello every year (and yes, I am from Utah.) It’s a stunning dish that will leave your guest asking how you make it.

Ingredients

5 packages Jello ( 3-oz.)

Lime

Lemon

Orange

Black Cherry

Strawberry or Cherry

1 pt. Sour Cream

1 small Cool Whip

Instructions

Dissolve 1st pkg. of Jello in 1 cup boiling water (this will make the Jello-water 1 1/3 cups.) Pour 2/3 cup Jello water into 2 bowls, (one bowl for the creamy layer and one for the clear layer.)  Add 1/3 cup sour cream to 1 bowl and stir till dissolved. Pour into 9x13 inch dish. Set for 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Meanwhile add 2 Tablespoons of cold water to the other bowl of Jello. When the creamy layer has set for 30 minutes, pour the clear layer over the creamy and set for 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Repeat for all the layers. Top with Cool Whip before serving.

Tip:

Set a timer for the 30 minutes. This dish doesn’t involve a lot of prep time, just refrigerator time.  This dish also looks great at Christmas time done in layers of red and green.

Kari’s in-laws are from the South and introduced her to Sweet Potato Soufflé.  It couldn’t be Thanksgiving without this yummy dish!
