I made these cupcake stands and cupcakes for gifts to give the girls at work... but wouldn't they be fun for place holders, or party favors? ...
Easy peasy instructions...
1. Buy saucers that have a cute shape at a thrift store..the cheaper the better!
2. Buy glass candlesticks from dollar store (yes seriously.. only a dollar each.. YAY)
3. Paint saucer and candlestick (my paint of choice is Rust-oleum for all of my painting needs, I think I have one can of every color...and about 10 black :) )
4. Once the paint on both the saucer and candlestick are completely dry, glue the saucer to the candlestick using epoxy or other strong glue.
5. Bake cupcakes (I chose red velvet because it went with my color scheme, I'm a little crazy like that) in king size muffin tin (I got my tin from Hobby Lobby).
6. Double up the cupcake papers for a ruffly look.
7. Tie ribbon in a simple knot around cupcake.
8. Frost cupcake with white frosting of choice. (I chose whipped cream cheese frosting yum!)
10. Use a punch or cut your own little snow flakes to add to the top of the cupcake (the punch I used is from Martha Stewart) along with printable of your choice (feel free to download mine above and resize if you'd like)
11. Add the finishing touches to the plate with a white doily and the cute chunky peppermint sticks for a pop of color!
My friend from work is going to make these in pink for a tea party she is having with her granddaughters after Christmas... won't that be adorable?
